The Matthew McLean guide to portaging.
1) Make sure to get out of you boat in the water - stay well clear of the bank.
2) Avoid the bank when getting in as well.
3) Fill the boat with water, for a bit of ballast.
4) And off you go. Easy.

A Very Old Photo!
A photo from Grunt, showing the Canoe Club float at Banbury carnival.

Grunt says:
"Name two out of the three founder members of the club, and a fourth founder member, still a member of the club."

Does anyone recognise any of the young paddlers?

I'm sure we threw that buoyancy aid out a couple of years ago...
