Touring, camping and social events.

Touring, and Recreational Canoeing

This activity appeals to paddlers of every age and level of fitness. Some might prefer a leisurely tour on a slow moving river, a lake or a canal, taking in the scenery, and perhaps stopping along the way for lunch at a riverside pub. The more adventurous might want to try an overnight trip or camping expedition. Occasional sea kayak trips are also arranged, with commercial organisations.

Canoe Camp Weekends

The club organises one or two family camping weekends every year at fully equipped riverside sites, giving the whole family a chance to paddle, and to join in the inevitable games of rounders, cricket, football, frisbee …

European Adventures

The club is twinned with Hennef Canoe Club in Germany, and the two clubs enjoy regular exchange visits.

Social Events

There are plenty of social events throughout the year: quizzes, barbecues, parties, picnics, camping, raft races, curry nights, bowling, treasure hunts … there’s always something going on.
